Colts News
Our colts section has expanded rapidly in recent years
and this year we will be running league teams at U15, U13, U11, U10 and
U9 levels in the West Surrey Youth Cricket League, as well as a good
selection of friendly matches – fixtures will be announced shortly.
Our colts membership is open to all, irrespective of ability and
experience. Whilst we generally try to field our strongest teams for
league matches, our policy is to make sure that all colts have the
opportunity to play in at least some matches over the course of the
season.
As last year, our main practice night in 2008 will be on Friday evenings
starting in late April, when there will be training sessions for the 4
youngest league squads, as well as introductory cricket coaching for U8
and U7 age groups (the U15s train on Thursday evenings). Once again,
there will be a bar and barbecue every Friday from early May through to
mid-July.
This year, our coaching facilities on Fridays should be significantly
improved. By the time the season starts, we hope to have replaced the
existing 2 nets with 3 new nets in a slightly different location,
enabling us to offer more specialist batting and bowling coaching to all
the league squads. In the meantime, there are colts winter nets sessions
most Sundays at Duke of Kent School near Peaslake.

Social Events
Friday evenings
It is intended that the bar and barbecue will be open as follows on
Fridays during the coming season:
- 25 April, 2 May – bar only
- 9 May until 11 July – bar and barbecue
- any extra session after that date – bar only
The bar opens at 6.00 pm and the barbecue starts
serving at 7.00 pm.
Tuck shop for sweets and ices will also be open every Friday.
We are always on the look out for volunteers to help with these – please
let Jayne Barlow know if you can lend a hand.
End of season
- End of season club trophy matches on dates TBA.
- Saturday 27 September: Prize giving and curry
night at clubhouse for seasonal awards.
