Colts News
Our colts section has expanded rapidly in recent years and this year we
are running league teams at U14, U12, U11, U10 and U9 levels in the West
Surrey Youth Cricket League, as well as a good selection of friendly
matches – see fixtures [hyperlink].
The season has already got off to a great start with a club record
colts’ partnership of 117 in the U14s opening league match and wins for
the U12s and U10s in their opening fixtures as well.
Our colts membership is open to all, irrespective of ability and
experience. Whilst we generally try to field our strongest teams for
league matches, our policy is to make sure that all colts have the
opportunity to play in at least some matches over the course of the
season.
Our main practice night is on Friday evenings starting, when there is
training sessions for all the league squads, as well as introductory
cricket coaching for U8 and U7 age groups. There will be a bar and
barbecue every Friday from 8 May through to 10 July.
This season we will have 6 UKCC level 2 qualified coaches (or
equivalent) at the club plus several UKCC level 1 qualified coaches (or
equivalent) as well. We will also be bringing in outside professional
coaches from time to time.
