Sunday XI v Park Hill (Home) 20-06-2010

Result: Blackheath won by 137 runs

Blackheath - P Melhuish 101*, H Giles 59 & 3-6, B Hodges 56, T Webb 3-24

Park Hill - A Williams 31, E Ransom 25

On Sunday, when our guests Park Hill turned up with a PINK cricket ball our skipper Nick Harrison politely declined it (along with the size 27 shoes and comedy trousers), and his Development XI proceeded to give the errant visitors a cricketing lesson! A maiden century for Pete Melhuish and 50s for Ben Hodges and Harry Giles (the latter in just 26 balls) took us to 269-5 declared from 40 overs. Park Hill were then dispatched for 130 with Toby Webb picking up 3 wickets and Harry Giles a hat trick. Good contributions from several younger colts who also played made this a really strong team performance that bodes very well for the future.
