Sunday XI v Churt (Away) 09-05-2010

Result: Blackheath lost by 9 wickets

Blackheath - H Giles 106*, O Craske 49

Churt - Finnegan 126*, Wyndam 62*

Another cold miserable day saw the Heathens arrive at Churt with only 8 men.Luckily we won the toss and chose to bat whilste Nick Harrison and Chris Poil came to make the numbers up to ten.

Things were looking good when we declared on 216 for 7 off 38 overs, thanks' largely to an excellent innings by Harry Giles, scoring 106 not out. Ollie Craske also scored a very tidy 49 in his first game of the season.

Things went very pear shaped when the Churt batsmen took to the crease and started smashing the ball out of the ground on a regular basis. All 7 bowlers took some heavy blows with Edwin Dawe picking up our only wicket of the day, with the help of a very good slip catch by Ollie Craske.Churt won the game by 9 wickets in the 28th over.A forgetable game but an unforgetable performance from Harry Giles, well done.
