Saturday 1st XI v Milford 1st XI (Away) 26-07-2008

Result: Milford CC - 1st XI won batting second

Blackheath - N Watson 48

Milford 1st XI - G Gwilliam 80*, J Harland 62*, D Ralf 3-38, B Askew 3-53

Blackheath 1st XI lost by 8 wickets against a strong Milford 1st XI away to Milford.
Blackheath posted a respectable 182 for 9 off 48 overs, but could have easily been 220+ if only the majority of batsmen converted their scores. Five players finished on scores of 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19. Nigel Watson also fell short of his 50 on 48 runs.Milford were 30 for 2 at one stage and looking edgy, however, after some early scares numbers 3 and 4 took any chance of a victory away from "The Heath". Several bowling changes were made in an attempt to break the partnership, but this failed and Milford quickly pulled away gaining victory off just 33 overs.Richard "Dickie The Tail" Smith saw his 2 overs go for 26 runs, which included a straight six striking the bedroom wall of a house opposite appearing to interrupt a couple in their bedroom. God knows what they were doing!!
